HVL003 – A HEAVYLISTENING EXPERIENCE BY CARL SCHILDE

Experience the WOW.

WOW is a sonic experience you can create in your own home. If that isn't enough for you, you might want to drop by at one of our setups.

We regularly show WOW as an interactive installation, performed by the audience and also play live concerts, using only WOW records.

WOW – hands on.

Interactive sub-bass installation.

A WOW installation consists of four or more record players, each connected to a massive subwoofer. There's one WOW record on each record player.

As soon as the records are playing, powerful sub-sonic rhythms evolve, making the whole space resonate.

The audience is free to change playback speeds, start and stop record players, or touch the spinning records to control the wave field and physically connect to the sound.

Several people can play with or against each other, communicating musically through sub-bass, creating their own rendition of WOW.

Church of bass.

To celebrate the release of WOW, we set up a one-night only installation in a huge, empty church in the center of Berlin.
This was named one of the top 10 concerts of 2012 by Blouin ARTINFO Germany.

WOW – Director's cut.

The most minimal DJ set ever.

We really like to play WOW ourselves, so we decided to take those records to the stage. We use four of them to create a minimal performance of elaborate, intense bass patterns, taking any club's PA to its limits.

Some people like to dance to it.

WOW is all about the direct connection between the settings on the record player and the response of the wave field. This is why we set up a projection to share with you what exactly we're doing.

We premiered WOW live at CTM Festival Berlin 2013 and we'll perform it again soon. Stay tuned for concert dates.
